Introduction
Pictures speak a thousand words. Capturing life and its moments in a still camera is a passion many pursue as a hobby, and the exceptional, as a career Photographs can inform, amuse, shock or amaze, and can instill a sense of beauty and be creative. Professional photography requires some special skills. Professional photography demands a lot of technicalities like camera and lens specifications, apertures, shutter speeds, exposures, lighting ratios, contrast etc. and artistic skills like composition and aesthetics.

Procedure
To become a professional photographer, one could have a graduate degree (B.A.) in Photography. The degree and postgraduate degree courses are offered by private and government colleges in India and abroad.
Basic eligibility criteria: +2 (Higher Secondary) students with any group as the major can choose to do a course for their career.
The course duration for the various programs is as follows:
•    Diploma is two years.
•    B.A (Photography) is a three years integrated course.
•    M.A (Photography) is two years.

What will be the cost or fee of Photography course
The total expense for doing Bachelor of Photography and its related fields are as follows
•    B.A - approximately around Rs.23000/ per year - (3 Years)
•    M.A - approximately around Rs.35000/ per year - (2 Years)
The private schools and institutes of photography may charge around two to four Lakhs per year as tuition/course fee. The student must also buy reasonably good cameras and other accessories as per the course requirement.

Salary Package
For a photographer employed in any of the govt. or private media related business can draw a salary from Rs.6, 500 to Rs.12, 000 for fresh graduates, which increases with experience and specialization. But for freelance photographers in the above fields, the remuneration is directly proportional to his/her performance and creativity. It is way ahead when compared to a salaried photographer.
